CETL has arranged a workshop for the newly admitted students of all departments of GUB titled "Get Going at GUB" on Saturday, 5 February 2022 from 3:15pm to 5:00pm, as a virtual welcoming tour and introduction to university affairs from students' perspective. Dr. ASM Shihavuddin, Honorable Director of CETL, lead facilitators of CETL, Interns, and over 450 participants were present at the workshop. Freshers were introduced to virtual classrooms, platforms, useful softwares, and coached about various responsibilities such as how they can operate their all-important student portals, pay their tuition fees and how to pre-register and register for a future course etc. in this workshop.
The workshop was divided into three segments, each carrying an agenda of its own. The first third of the workshop involved an introduction to the Co-curricular opportunities, the platforms of learning currently available at GUB both online and physically, and the potential scholarship opportunities for the brightest students. The following segment contained a demo of learning activities crucial for online academic procedures carried out at GUB.
A virtual tour of the GUB websites, student portals, the CETL Hotline service where students can seek clarification for any of their doubts at any time, was given in the third and final chapter of the workshop.
At the end of the session, the participants reflected upon the effectiveness of the workshop via a post-test survey. Via the feedback form, around 47% of all targeted participants reported that they found this workshop very helpful by rating it 5 out of 5. Over 96% freshers' gave an overwhelmingly positive response to the session which makes the event successful.
