Green University Language Center (GULC) has successfully hosted an informative webinar entitled "Covid-19: Impacts on the Economy of Bangladesh" on September 13th, 2021, using the online platform Zoom. More than 120+ students who are on various educational levels at the Green University of Bangladesh have graced the webinar with their active participation. Prof. Dr. Golam Ahmed Faruqui, Dean (Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences & Green Business School) has adorned the session with his presence as the honorable chief guest. As the keynote speaker of the session, a Prominent scholar Prof. Dr. Md. Aynul Islam, Department of Economics, Jagannath University, has enlightened everyone with his valuable lecture with an aim to enhance the students’ knowledge about the current economic situations of Bangladesh during this pandemic.
The Green University of Bangladesh has arranged this one of its kind event. At the very beginning, our chief guest of the session has emphasized the necessity of such a thorough discussion to know about our economic situation and policies during Covid-19. The keynote speaker with his vibrant but lucid presentation has enchanted the audience throughout the webinar. The webinar has focused on various interesting arenas like the current situation of the economy of Bangladesh, GDP growth, fall of RMG sectors, how to combat the challenges to maintain sustainability in our Economy, and so on.
Lastly, the exciting session has been concluded with the consent of our honorable Chief guest and with the permission of the director of the language center and the keynote speaker.
Soon after the speaker’s speech, questions from the audience have started to flood in. Due to time restraint, this highly interactive session has had to come to an end with the vote of thanks from the Director of Green University Language Center – Ms. Serajum Munira. However, all of the participants have been highly motivated by the effective and meticulous discussion without any doubt.
