CETL Workshop on Togetherness for High Performance at GUB: Roles of Values and Culture

The Green University of Bangladesh has organized a two-day workshop titled 'Togetherness for High Performance at GUB: Roles of Values ​​and Culture' to strengthen the bond between all concerned with the aim of establishing a high-quality and first-class university. The workshop began last Tuesday (February 23) online with a preworkshop session. The face-to-face workshop was organized on 27^th and 28^th February 2021 at the permanent campus of Green University of Bangladesh of Purbachal American City in collaboration with the University's Center of Excellence for Teaching and Learning.  More than two hundred and fifty teachers and officials of the university took part in it.

Md. Golam Samdani Fakir, Vice-Chancellor of GUB conducted the session as the main facilitator. Pro-Vice-Chancellor Md. Abdur Razzak, Treasurer. Md. Faizur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Business. Md. Golam Ahmed Farooqi, Distinguished Professor. Nitai Chandra Sutradhar, Registrar Saiful Islam, CETL Director and Chairperson of the EEE Department. ASM Shihabuddin, IQAC Director Jagannath Biswas, and Divisional Chairperson, teachers, and officials were present.

University premises were ready with two signature banners, a t-shirt distribution booth, activity tools, posters, direction banners, banners of various quotes along with all the safety measures for the COVID situation. All the guests were enlisted within ten groups. Each group had a leader. They went upstairs to see the "Mobile Plenary " boards. After that, the next activity was the 5C puzzle and Tower building. The reflection of this segment is how to work together, follow the instructions of the leader even if the leader changes in between, how to cope up and build trust in each other. After having a delicious lunch VC, Pro-VC guided the participants to the playground and made them play a music passing game. Next segment GUB Lotus which was also displayed on the playground. In the afternoon, ‘Kahoot team play’ was arranged where all the groups participated using their mobile device and answered the questions related to the Green University of Bangladesh reflecting how much they know about their institution. A short cultural program was held to reflect our culture and cheer up team bonding. Lastly, the workshop got warped up by lighting up fanush from the playground as a symbol of celebration of joy.

The speakers said that the purpose of this workshop is to showcase the values ​​of Green University through the work, efficiency, and behaviours of the teachers, officials, and even the staff from the top officials of the university. At this time, the speakers expressed their determination to make Green University one of the top 5 universities in the rankings by 2030.

The Vice-Chancellor said that education is one of the most challenging sectors in the world during the Corona era. However, since the beginning of the lockdown, Green University has stood by the students by ensuring all online education services. Even then, the university has to move forward by holding and practicing the positive values ​​of all concerned. He called upon all to work for institutional development through organizational communication, high-quality team, enhancement of interpersonal communication, and building transformational leadership.
